What Is the Difference Between Stacked and Loose Volume?
Loose volume refers to the space taken up by logs when they are loosely loaded or poured into a container – this is the UK industry and legal standard. Stacked volume measures the space the logs take up when neatly arranged.
Because stacked logs are tightly packed, the stacked volume is typically more than a third less than loose volume. Knowing both measurements helps you choose the right amount you need for your space and appliance.
